The CARE Closet began 3/11/2016 after I started a Lent challenge of instead of giving something up for Lent, give gently used clothing to be distributed to local kids in our community. Initially the donations were to go to Oyler school in Lower Price Hill. The donations came in at an enormous rate that I decided to start a kids clothing closet in Northern Kentucky. I had one idea and God had another. We have been incredibly blessed with a very generous and giving community that not only allowed us to support all local school kids, but also kids in foster and kinship care with open cases with the Kentucky Cabinet. Our mission from the beginning was to have on site CARE Closets at school. Having a CARE Closet allows the kids to "shop" for clothes, shoes and personal care items, at no cost to their families.

Our Story
La Soupe bridges the gap between food waste and hunger using a chef based model by rescuing perishable food, transforming it into delicious and nutritious meals, and sharing with the food insecure and our supporters. Quite simply, we rescue perishables from grocers, distributors, farmers and restaurants. Most of the food is brought to La Soupe where our chefs transform it into healthy soupes and casseroles. These items are enjoyed by both the food insecure and our supporters. Our volunteer food runners make this happen by rescuing the perishables, bringing the items to La Soupe, and then delivering to our Share Partners. La Soupe also rescues prepared food from restaurants and delivers directly to agencies that feed the hungry.
Master Provisions serves God by connecting resources to needs, until every physical and spiritual need is fulfilled. We work in partnership with agencies that directly serve people in need, distributing resources to them. By spending less time and money obtaining resources, these partner agencies are able to focus on their core mission.
Since the beginning, our top priority has been to focus on our customers’ needs. We’re committed to listening to the needs of every customer, working with them hand in hand to transform their spaces.

Due to the generosity of David Hosea I was able to start The CARE Closet and we now operate out of 801 York St., Newport, KY.

David Hosea is a 73 year-old business man and philanthropist, born and raised in Campbell County. He runs 14 businesses within the United States, and serves as a board member for nine charity organizations, and even started one of the most successful soup kitchens in America. In 2015, Mr. Hosea purchased the church building at 801 York St. in Newport, which would eventually be home to The CARE Closet, among other non-profit organizations. With many successful businesses under his belt, as well as a successful marriage of more than 50 years, Mr. Hosea has a lot to be thankful for. It's for this reason that he feels called to help the neediest members of our community, and is a proud supporter of The CARE Closet and their mission.
